Our schedule of events:

We will be hosting a Christmas Party with music and all the trimmings. Please wear your most festive Christmas outfit for the occasion :) The brightest and most fun will be awarded a prize thru a voting system.

Christmas gift exchange

Christmas gift exchange retail value of $15.00. Please be considerate of all our group members and select items that are generic or have a wide range of appeal in subject. (Birthday theme, a crafting tool, generic embellishments-shy away from baby or pet themes). We will be using the Chinese gift exchange method for this exchange.We know how much you guy's luv it :)
Please be creative with your packaging as we will be voting for the most creatively decorated package and a prize value will be awarded.

1-We would love it if everyone would print 15 copies of their favorite family or holiday recipe. It doesn't need to be a decorated recipe page or anything like that. Just write up or type your recipe and make 15 copies. We will exchange them at the crop. This is voluntary.

Class:

As always, classes are voluntary. Our class will be to make this Halloween Decor project. I hope to start this at about 2:00 as we need to paint our letters and let them dry. You will need to bring your own letters. I found these pressboard letters at Hobby Lobby for about $1.99 each. You could also make your own using several layers of chipboard or cereal boxes for each letter. Cut them out using your Cricut or other die cutting machine, and glue a stack of each letter until you get the desired dimension. If you are not a fan of Halloween, you can decorate any letters you want (think initials, or an inspirational or seasonal word). Halloween papers and black paint will be provided but if you want to do something non Halloween, you will need to bring your own paint and paper.

Prizes:

Maggie always has some sort of prize or prizes. This month we will be having a drawing for anyone who uses the blog to RSVP and post their dish. There will be another drawing for anyone who brings a new member to the crop.

Reminder-next Crop is October 1st

Just a quick note to remind everyone that our next Crop at Sts Peter and Paul is on Saturday, October 1st. Our class will be to make this Halloween Decor project. Christmas in September Crop-September 3rd

Hello, all! Maggie and I hope you can make it to the crop at Sts Peter and Paul church this Saturday.

First things first. Our next crop is Saturday, September 3^rd at Sts Peter and Paul Church. Address is:

5300 Old Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792
Time: 12:30 – 10:00pm
Cost: $5:00 Please bring a dish to share (more about this later)

Drive to the back of the property and you should see the Scrapbooking signs.

Food:

Please bring a dish to share. It would be great if everyone could post what they are going to bring. Meat or main dishes are usually needed the most ,but feel free to bring what you want. Maggie will supply plates, eating utensils, napkins and cups. The church has a full kitchen so refrigeration and heating food will not be a problem. But please bring serving utensils and your own drinks. The church has a huge ice maker so there is always plenty of ice.

Classes/projects:

As always classes are voluntary. This month we have two.

Christmas t-shirts. Please bring the snowflake crystal you received last month, ironed to the t shirt you will be using. If you were not here last month and would like to make a t shirt, we will bring extra iron on decals for you. Just bring a pre-washed tshirt of your choice. I would urge you to bring a white, red, pink, light blue or black t shirt.

Christmas Tags: We will provide you with blank tags for decorating, and hopefully a few examples (I may be overextending myself here). Please bring stamps, embellishments, ink, whatever you would like to decorate tags with.

Prizes: Maggie always has a lot of prizes and giveaways. I can’t keep up with them. I just know that if you bring someone with you, there’s an extra chance to win something.

Garage Sale: If you have any scrapbooking items you would like to sell, feel free to bring them. A table will be set up for an extras you would like to see go to a good home, and make a few bucks at the same time.

There will be a Cricut Expression there for use, along with a Cuttlebug. Please bring your Gypsy, cartridges and mats.

June crop Review!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Father’s day and hope everyone is having a Mahvelous day! I want to send a huge welcome to Karen, Tina, Lorraine, Betty. Miss Lorraine thank you so much for your amazing goodies you brought to share, they are very much appreciated.

We are sorry to hear about Jen’s loss, our prayers are with you.

I’ve been sick with the flu, unfortunately I wasn’t able to achieve all the plans I had for this upcoming crop July 9th. However I will be doing the Christmas ideas starting in September.

We are still doing the Cricut class in July, and August the tea light and the fabric shirt.

Our crop is July 9th, from 12.30-11pm. You will need to bring a note pad to take notes on all the tips n tricks we will be sharing with you (Jackie n I) on how to add more to your die cut, make the most of the Cricut.

Our qualifications to teach:

Both Jackie and I are former Design Team members for Provo Craft makers of the Cricut. I’ve teach classes for Provo Craft, and demos for 2 years including Craft and Hobby Association.

You can also find my work every month in a magazine or book here in the US or Europe and Australia. I will bring recent work that has been published for you to peruse.

Best of all this class is free as part of the crop.

We are getting organized and responding to your need.

In August the Lovely Miss Carole is going to teach this awesome class on how to decorate a tea light as a home decor,or as a present to lit a smile on someone face.
The best part is this will not break the bank

What you will need for this class:

Tea lights
Cardstock
Glue
Stamp of your choice

I will provide the pattern paper papers, and you can use my set of glitters for decorating the box.
Don't forget our class in July as well, make the most of your Cricut...

We will be Celebrating Christmas in July...
The class project will be showing the project in 2 weeks. Don’t forget to look for charger at the $ store and resale stores… have fun!

Happy Memorial weekend! Saturday June 4th Crop countdown!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Memorial Weekend! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. As we countdown to Saturday crop starting at 12.30 pm to 10 pm whoohoo!
Our class this Saturday is a simple Mini Album, please save your cereal boxes.
Here is what we will be creating.

You can start by cutting your base using the following dimensions.

You will need the following for the class so it will speed up the process:

Cereal boxes or cardstock: (4) 6x6 for your front and back cover, Glue 2 pieces of the 6x6 together to create the front and back cover of the mini album.

Inside pages you will need 6 5x5 cereal or cardstock glue together to become 3. This will create your base and make this mini sturdy.

You will need to use the Prima papers from last month cut them at 4x4 and adhere to the base.

Here are the supplies you will need 14-16 pictures,glossy accent, rhinestone, cricut mat, chalk for inking the edges, round doily, rub on.
In the class I will show you how to create pockets, how to create the inserts.
The pages below we will create at the class, the hidden pockets.

You will need to cut an envelope or bring a small envelope the size of 3.5x3.5 for the insert
, in the colour of your choice.

I will be teaching you how to incorporate 10 embellishments on a 4x4 and make it look simple and beautiful.

Please keep in mind this class will last for 2 hours we will start at 2 pm.

If you are not participating in the mini album, here is a t-shirt fashion we will be creating, if you have all the flowers cut out ahead of time it will only take 20 mtes to do plus drying time.

What you will need are:

30 petals ranging from large to small as seen below on the picture, you can use a flower die on your cuttlebug, Big shot etc, or you can cut circles they work the same way.

You can find the supply list here

For those of you into Mix media. To create this you will need a cardboard box, or canvas 9x11.

You will need 4-5 paints of your choice, brushes, newspapers, stamps, liquid glue, cardstock for your lettering, pencils, cute junk catalogs.

Hi Everyone,
The fabulous Jackie and I are going to share tips and tricks on how to make the most of your Cricut. This will Be class 101 followed by a more advanced class with hands on demo.

If you have been using the Cricut just for titles then you are in for a treat :)

Jackie is going to be sharing how to get your embellishments to look like it came from a store, with just a few cuts.

I will be sharing how to use design elements on your pages to give it depth of field and how to give your elements life. How to easily decorate your home using the cut images as a stencils.

You will not want to miss this class :)

April 2nd Crop in St Theresa room

Hi everyone,
Spring is here and with it the scorcher temperature, so let's harness the power of spring by creating a fun project next weekend.
Here's what you will need for this scorching hot hot project.

Frame
Rhinestones
Cut flowers from any cricut cartridges
Fabric of your choice
2-4 pics at 3x3 sizes

Feel free to cut these items at home before the crop so the class will move along quick.

Jennifer you will need the following for your projects, raid your husband tool kit for them.

Mesh or chicken wire, flat nuts and bolts, cutting tool.

here's what we will be creating!

Bear in mind my frame is 12x12 and the fabric is 1/2 a yard so buy the amount you need to cover your frame.
Or you can use an old shirt, or t-shirt to cover your frame.

This Saturday Crop is in St Theresa room again

Hi Ladies,
I can't wait to see you this Saturday for another fun day.

We want to thank Vickie for taking over the food coordinating for us yay Vickie...

We will be featuring the Bind it all as a class but we will be combining it with another tutorial.
To make it easy for everyone as of this saturday all classes will be held at 4 pm from now on.

Here is what we will be doing, Beverly is going to teach an easy class on how to make your own little album similar to the class we had last year using the Cricut.
Bring your serial boxes and paper you want to use.

Maggie is going to teach how she made these flowers using the Cricut.
Here's what you need cut any flowers you want in sizes from 3.5, 3..25, 3. 2.75, 2.5, 2. a total of 6 flowers.

Bring as many as you want I will be teaching 3 styles of flowers all together. Bring a sharpie and a mouse pad, stylus to form the flowers.

for those of you having boys, I will be teaching you how to write their names using jute.

We will be meeting at the St Theresa room again the church is full for March, but we can go back to the bigger room after 5.30 pm.

Happy Valentines Day Crop

We had a wonderful Valentines Day crop this last Saturday, and this is one that Katie made while there! We all had a wonderful time, and I promise to take more photos in the future to share with everyone! Glad to be back home and cropping! Have a great Valentines Day!

Our next crop is Saturday, March 5th, but please check back if there are any changes. Next crop we are going to have a stash exchange. This is to swap our items that are no longer needed (papers, stamps, sb related) that you know someone will want and then swap it with each other!! Sounds like fun!

Happy Friday everyone!

Beverly is off to CHA and going to update us on all the fun things she is seeing and trends for us Whoohoo!

The month of February is completely book at the church so we don’t have our big room, but however don’t despair we will make do with the smaller room until the big room is available.

The time for our crop is at follows February 5th at St Therese room, from 2.30 pm to Midnight, yep I did say midnight and guess what I will have a fun surprise for y’all :)

Do you remember Want 2 Scrap, who sponsored our group bling last year? Well they went from gorgeous bling to.....bling that is in the shape of a Spellbinder Nestability!!! Notice how many shapes come in one package!!! It will come in 3 different colors to start with, and be featured as their new CHA 2011 release. Lee Ann is going to lead a Calendar class on Saturday!

Getting ready to crop and play this Saturday, and Lee Ann has graciously volunteered to show us more of the details to make a calendar like hers, as seen above. Hoping everyone has the time to come out to the crop. If you want to do one of these, Beverly (Me) will pick up the (12x18)Metal sheeting from Home Depot if anyone is needing one. Please just email me or call.

Meal plans: Soups, sandwiches, and crock pot items (meatballs, etc) for food, would be great for our cooler weather. Everyone is probably watching their weight so less desserts if possible. You can post what you are bringing if you already know. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!!

Hi Everyone,
Have you recovered from the feast of Thanksgiving? I'm still feeling the effects.
You asked and I am responding a couple of you emailed asking to see how I use the ornaments that I showed you how to do last month.
Here it is! I am almost done with this swag, I need to add some sparkly tulle and a few more glitter ornaments then I'm done.
Here are the stockings I was working on, thanks to Carole I was able to finish the stockings.

Cardstocks, stamps, ink pad
cut your embellishments from Cricut any cart of your choice, ink the edges.

Happy Thanksgiving to y'all.
We wish you blessings and abundance on this day of gratitude.

As we count down to the crop here are some ideas of what we will be making.

Christmas ornaments! last crop I share some ideas on how to create a fabulous Christmas Ornaments. I will bring the mop and glo.

Here's what you will need.

Clear glass ornaments, or plastic
Glitter of your choice
rub on or vinyl of your choice

Here is what we will be making next crop.

Here's another idea:
You will need

Cardstock of your choice.
Rhinestone
Glue and fluid chalk for the edges.

Christmas Tree

Cut your boxes from Tags boxes n more cricut cartridge, you will need 6 boxes but if you want to make it bigger then cut 10 boxes.
Glue, ribbon, and embellishments of your choice.

Holiday Tray:
You will need:

Candles, tray, ornaments of your choice, liquid glue like Elmer.
Epsom salt I will bring them for you

We have a gorgeous prize for you for completing a creative ornament :)

December crop Exchange

Well, as we are getting busy this time of year, I just wanted you to know that we are having our Christmas crop on Saturday, Dec. 4th starting at noon.

Our meal (Ham, or Christmas themed sides, egg nog, and desserts), will be at 5pm, with the dessert and our gift exchange following that. Limit yourself to a $15 scrapbooking gift or giftcard, your choice. No prize for wrapping but tons of fun and cropping.

We will do the frame class as well. If anyone is interested in doing the glittered ornament, here are the supplies. Maggie will bring the Mop'N Glo. Clear glass ornaments, (flat ones are at Michael's), Martha Stewart glitter, your choice of colors, and rub ons for the outside.

Cool Fall Weather

We have had wonderful cool weather here in Orlando, Florida and such a great time for our crop this last Saturday! The Thanksgiving meal just wet my appetite for more, and the scrumptious Pumpkin Pie with whipped cream was great to top it off! Thank you for all coming and we surely missed Katie, and Jennifer!! It's hard to be two places at once, I guess, but hopefully, we will all be back in 4 weeks, Saturday, Dec. 4th for our Christmas crop. Here is what you will need to create the frame.
1.Frame of size and colour of your choosing
2. Pattern and solid papers of your choosing (3)

5.Select the cartridge image you will like to use and cut them before hand.

We have our schedule finally for Upcoming Crops!!

Hello Ladies,
We finally got our dates for the upcoming crops.

October------------Oct 9th is Available, but Beverly will be away, and it's Maggie and Kate's Birthday they will not be able to attend the crop!
November---------Saturday, November 6th (First weekend)
December---------Saturday, December 4th (First weekend)

We will be back on schedule again in November and December so make plans now, and save the date!!
we have tons of fun and classes scheduled for you, don't forget to tell your friends and share the fun.

We are looking for a monthly hostess for the meals.

What does it entail?

1. Set up a theme for the type of food we should share.
2.Contact the participants to organize the meal plan.
Example if the meal is Tex-Mex, coordinate who brings the bean dips, nachos, guacamole, tacos, etc.

Have you ever had that feeling that you KNOW you have something, but you just cannot remember where? That was exactly what was happening to her. She would often find herself saying "I know I have a cartridge with a picture of . . . " and then she would spend more time flipping through the Cricut Cartridge handbooks to try and find that image, rather than spending that time enjoying her crafting.

Hobby Lobby Grand Opening!

Maggie and I met up at Orlando's first Hobby Lobby and had fun shopping. I fell in love with the new GCD Melody Ross paper pack and had to have it. The paper packs are 50% off all this week, by the way! And they have Copic markers as well. Maggie splurged on lace, beaded fringe, and more than I know!! What a terrific addition to all our stores in town.
I hope everyone tevo'ed HSN yesterday for a huge day of Scrapbooking Crafts! Provo Craft sold 10,000 Imagines in one day!!!!! Wow! Tons of new stuff coming.

Hobby Lobby's Grand Opening on Monday!!

Well, guess what, we have our very own Hobby Lobby here in Orlando, Florida! Wahoo!! We all have done the happy dance, already, so here are some coupons to get us on the road to the store and shop, shop, shopping. In the meantime, I hear that the store is having the Grand Opening on Monday, so keep an eye out for extra special things happening. Remember, their hours are CLOSED on Sundays. Hobby Lobby Opens Friday, Sept.10th at Colonial Plaza 9am

Well, the long awaited opening of our own Hobby Lobby takes place this Friday, Sept 10th at 9am. Unfortunately, it is a soft opening and I do not know of any coupons or activities. Let us know if you hear of any under comments below.

Otherwise the Grand Opening is Monday at 9am! Check back on Sunday for the coupons for that week, and by the way, their hours are Monday through Saturday 9am-8pm!! Take note that they are closed on Sundays and close earlier than other stores we know.

Well, if you haven't heard the latest, there is a new ATG glue gun out there for us. It's pink in honor of the Susan G. Komen Foundation for a cure to breast cancer. I found mine at my local Michaels this week and used a coupon!! Cost: $35 and then 40% off!! It seems that there are only 2 per store so call your Michaels and ask before making the trip. ;) The stores are putting them out just in the last 2 weeks in my area. Good luck.

In the meantime, the crop is tomorrow and we are going to be a small group but that gives us more space and more use of the Cricut!! Hoping everyone is crop ready! I know I am.

Copic Introduction from Beverly

Copics are markers that have alcohol inks combined with an easy applicator marker end. The colors compared to other water based inks are purer and brighter. In fact, once you use them, you recognize the difference in other people's artwork. That is why I recently got certified in Copics.

I thought I would share from Debbie Olson's book of different colors and there variations. (Notice it is a Bind It All book so she can add pages and such). I admire Debbie. She was an amazing teacher and thoroughly covered the necessities of Copics. But as her instruction went along, I realized that I need to "practice" the techniques that she taught. All this to say, though I only have about 6 markers, I encourage you to try them yourselves.

As I am also adding to my knowledge of this new phase in my scrapbooking/stamping experience, I would like to know your interest in it and if you would like to learn this at a future crop session, and to purchase more of them yourselves.

A few other details about Copics are that they are refillable, have different tips so can be used to write your journaling as well as color in stamped images.

The markers can be used on metal, and other mediums, as well as airbrushed like the glimmer mists. Colors can be combined without causing contamination to get your specific color you desire. As you can hear, I thoroughly enjoyed taking the course.

Beacons is known for having the best glues in the world...in my own opinion..But now they have a new bottle for a fantastic product called, Beacons Fast Finish Decoupage. It is awesome! While other products are good to decoupage with, this one bonds and seals paper and fabrics to wood, glass, metal and ceramic, DRYS CLEAR, and FAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, I mean NO wait time needed. Not messy either. Always dries clear, low odor, and never tacky. I made this box in minutes and it was dry enough to just put it into my bag and go!! Can you believe it? I love to do altered art and this is so amazing to someone like me because of the wait time needed for most of these type of projects. I am hoping that we will soon be able to find it in our local Joanns and Michaels. It will also be carried at Hobby Lobby's when we get ours in Colonial Plaza. So be on the lookout for it. They have shipped the first delivery as we speak.
Additional notes: My box seen here was made from tissue paper. I cut and even tore the paper but the Fast Finish covered my mistakes. I also used my other favorite glue, Beacons Zip Dry to adhere the ribbons, and flowers. LOVE these products! Thank you Beacons!!

One evening at CHA!! Some of us from the Cricut Message Board got together with Jim Colby for a late dinner. He was so wonderful to listen, take notes and answer our concerns. What a great guy!! Well, I am back from CHA and will have to post all about what is coming out!! You won't believe it!! I even kept listening but was just blown away!! Cricut has come out with the Imagine which allows you to print and cut together, so you can add color, imagery, and dimension to your creative projects. More choices are in your creative hands!! Wait till you see it! And yes you can use all Cricut Cartridges as well, but only to cut with. The cartridges that are made for the Imagine are printing types that have images with all the choices stored in them, so that you start there and add to it. Gypsy can be used with it, and the updates will come out in September. Different mats and a color computer screen, as well. It's like having an Expression but that can print eyes on the paper dolls, patterned paper cut to my desire, everything imagineably! Can't wait!

Well, I just found out this week, that I won't be going to CHA Summer 2010 and getting all the goodies I usually do for our crops. No photos to share, no goodies from Lil'Yellow Bicycle, Stratmire cards, Provo Craft idea books, and such. "It's the economy" is the excuse but not to worry, our wonderful leader, Maggie will be there with all the new happenings with Provo Crafts' newest endeavor, the Cricut Circle! So the only way we can support her is to join, if you haven't already.

Anyway, just to keep everyone in the mood of CHA, why not follow my infamous guru, Teresa Collins? Remember my photos of her booth last CHA? Here's all you will need,
1.Tshirt any colour of your choice, they are 4/10 this week at Joann.
2.Hanger to hang your shirt dry.
3.cardbox to fit onto your tshirt so the paint don't permeate to the back.

Fabric Flower You will need
1 Circle card stock 1.5
2.Fabric Glue

You need to figure out if you want the fabric flowers to be for Scrapping or Clothing. For scrapping you will need a circle cardstock, for Clothing you will need a circle in fabric..

Next crop is in 2 WEEKS!! Saturday, April 3rd! That is Easter weekend so make plans to come and join in the fun. The class will be on Embossing and we will be using it to embellish our flowers to add some bling to them!! Can't wait for more fun and laughter!

Get your heat gun out ladies, we are going to heat things up at the next crop.
I have fun samples to show you later, once I find a camera card :)

We will create flowers from Cricut then add Embossing to give it a luster look.

Here are some cards I made using the October Afternoon ATC cards from the Farm Fresh lines. I used a patterned paper that I already owned and then added Kraft colored cardstock, and Scenic Route twill in rust color, as well as sprayed flowers with blue Smooch by Clear Snap to match. This gives you an idea of what to bring with you to the crop March 20th, for the October Afternoon ATC card making. We will give each person ATC's and one folded blank card to get them started. Bring all other supplies such as patterned paper and cardstocks you think will match, paper trimmer, ink needed, glue, ribbon/lace/twill or whatever, flowers, sprays, dimensional pop dots, matching cardstock, etc. I posted some images of the ATC cards in our gallery for you to see some of them.

Please remember that our next crop in March 20th and NOT this week.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I did making them.
